Waxing Phil is a loosely knit band of genre-bending
songwriters and musicians from the fertile music roots of the Midwest,
who have been writing, recording and performing truly original material
since 1995. Drawing from classic rock influences and the singer-songwriters
of the 60’s and 70’s, Waxing Phil tells of characters,
landscapes and feelings not usually available in a four minute song.
Life In the Day of…, a four song EP containing the hit “Pretty
Thing” was released in May 1999 to critical acclaim. In 2001,
the band was selected for inclusion on a national compilation CD
benefiting the World Trade Center bombing victims, with the poignant
“Patriot Hymn”. In 2002 the band signed with the independent
Lola Records label and are currently in the studio recording their
first full length effort, Sensational Bad News, scheduled for release
in Summer 2003. For more information on the band, downloadable songs,
